The original Meadows campus, located just west of Chenoa, Illinois, provided skilled nursing services to 13 residents when it opened in 1923. Over the years, the campus grew and expanded service options for area seniors. Meadows established a strong reputation for providing quality, resident-focused care in a Christian environment, a reputation that has been upheld throughout Meadows' 95 years of service.
Today, Meadows Chenoa campus continues to serve seniors through a full continuum of senior living options, including Independent Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing Care, Respite Care and our Achieve Wellness & Rehab Therapy program (inpatient and outpatient services).
Meadows offers the most comprehensive memory care in the area, with two resident Neighborhoods for early stage and late stage memory care services. All our memory care residents are treated with great respect and care, and the staff is thoroughly trained in communication and comfort of the residents, to meet them where they are in the disease. Meadows had the first sensory room in the Bloomington-Normal area, which can both calm and stimulate those with dementia to reduce boredom, sadness, anger, or anxiety.
Short-term skilled nursing serves those who need a short time to recover from surgery, stroke or other events while receiving physical, occupational or speech therapy. Long-term care is offered for those who need ongoing assistance as a result of serious health issues or disabilities. The skilled care Neighborhood features a beautiful remodeled dining and activity space, choice of private or semi-private rooms, and daily activity programs tailored to each resident's abilities and needs.
Inpatient and outpatient therapy is available through the Achieve Wellness & Rehab Therapy Program. Physical, occupational, speech therapies are available seven days a week as needed for inpatients, and our therapists also serve outpatients for the convenience of anyone living in the Chenoa, Gridley, Lexington, Fairbury, El Paso or Pontiac area who needs outpatient therapy close to home.
Independent living is offered to residents of 44 villa homes surrounding a community Campus Center. Residents enjoy snow removal, lawn care, maintenance, scheduled transportation, life enrichment opportunities, emergency response (pendants monitored 24 hrs. a day, 365 days a year), priority admission to additional care and services, and access to the Campus Center, featuring a pool table, virtual gaming system, multi-purpose room and fully-equipped fitness center.
